Ariel’s Letter

Dear Jamal,

Eid Mubarak.  It is terrible that at this time of year that is supposed to be so joyful, you are suffering deeply from such horrific physical and emotional wounds.  On the one hand, there is no consolation that hatred and injustice have done this to you – rather, not these abstractions, but other human beings, other children of God.  On the other hand, God in His mercy is always there and we can always work for His compassion.  It is not for me to tell you to have hope, or to choose peace, but please know that people around the world are praying for you and your family.  Hopefully knowing that we are thinking of you will provide you some small consolation or comfort.  Please accept my sincerest wishes that you will recover fully and quickly.
